Easy savory serves that hit the spot

Close out summer with pâté snack showstoppers, and they’re probably less effort than you’d think. Whether you’re passing a dish at a Labor Day weekend bash or hosting a chic backyard dinner party, here’s a menu featuring artisan-quality ingredients and elevated flavors that any group will disappear most deliciously.

Goat Cheese and Duck Rillette Bowl

A host’s favorite, you can make this one without even breaking conversation. In a large shallow, platter-style bowl, spread a base layer of goat cheese. Add generous spoonfuls of decadent shredded Duck Rillette, a sprinkling of olives and sundried tomatoes, then top with a drizzle of olive oil and some fresh basil. It’s the perfect dish to make as guests arrive and the first rounds of drinks are flowing.

Charcuterie Chips

Another easy recipe with minimal prep and unfussy presentation, charcuterie chips are topped with cured meats, pâtés, cheeses, pickled veggies, and more delicious accompaniments. Pâté is the ideal convenience protein for these aperitivo-style crisps. Use cubes of coarse-cut pâtés, like rustic pork and sherry-rich Pâté de Campagne, or spoonfuls of sharp yet creamy Black Peppercorn Mousse. Even shredded rillette pairs beautifully with crunchy kettle chips.

Lemony Truffle Pasta

An easy light pasta is the perfect main dish for a chic end-of-summer bash.
Truffle Mousse is so delicious on pasta, and it couldn’t be simpler to prepare. Just cook your pasta, sauté onions, butter, and garlic, and add the cooked pasta back into the pan. Now top with spoonfuls of mousse, which will begin to melt, creating the most decadent truffly sauce so good you’ll need seconds. If you’re not a truffle fan, here are some more light summer pâté pastas.
