5 ways to lighten up with Alexian Pâté

The summer season doesn't summon the protein and calorie desires of winter so we put together some suggestions to lighten up the plate.

We have created a line of vegetable and vegan terrines that are bursting with vegetables, herbs, spices, and even some goat cheese that will have you forgetting that meat even exists.

A Simple and Satisfying Lunch

If you're looking for an easy, delicious and healthy inspiration for lunch, look no further.

A plate, a fork, and a slice of our Mixed Vegetable Pâté made with spinach, broccoli, carrot and cauliflower is all you need for a perfectly delightful luncheon treat. For additional color add a few cherry tomatoes, and for some crunch add some fresh washed frissee. To add interest and richness to your presentation place all atop a collard green leaf.

Pasta Salad

Pasta salads, eaten cold or warm, are the perfect summertime dish, not only due to their simplicity and versatility, but because they allow you to take advantage of raw, in-season produce.

For a simple pasta salad that will satisfy any appetite, add some diced Tomato Basil Pâté into cooked penne. Add a splash of additional color with leaves of baby spinach, fresh mozzarella, bell pepper slices, and enjoy.

Stuff It!

Stuffed peppers are an almost universally enjoyed dish, and they're easy to make meatless.

Once recipe we love is stuffed red bell peppers with our Curry and Bell Pepper Pâté, couscous, and smoked cheddar - but the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

For a summertime twist, prepare all ingredients that need to be cooked indoors, then wrap the bell peppers in aluminum foil and throw them on the grill until just tender.

Veggie Burgers

Summer is the season for burgers -- and no vegetarian should be left out. Add some additional flavor to to your favorite veggie burger by topping it with "fork mashed" Eggplant and Goat Cheese Pâté, avocado slices, and a handful of fresh, crunchy greens.

Effortless Snacking

All of our vegetable pates come ready-to-eat - there's no need to add anything extra unless you want to. Try serving them by the slice with pita chips, tortilla chips or baguette slices or toast points for a simple and delicious summertime snack.
