How to Incorporate Pâté into Your Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is a wonderful day. It’s the official start of the holiday season; it’s the time to just take a moment to enjoy your friends and family and be thankful for all of the good things in your life, and then there’s the food. While everybody loves a table full of food, anyone who’s hosted a Thanksgiving dinner knows the stress of getting everything on the table.

To help ease the stress and make your Thanksgiving a day full of family, fun and food, we’ve compiled a few easy ways to incorporate our pâté into your menu.

Alexian pâté comes fully (and lovingly) cooked, and it’s bursting with deep, rich flavors that make it a powerful and versatile tool in your cooking arsenal. Our pâtés come in a wide variety of flavors- from classic Chicken Liver to savory Black Peppercorn Mousse to decadent Truffle Mousse - that are perfect on their own, as a base to a savory sauce or mixed in with your favorite foods.

Charcuterie

An appetizer doesn’t need to be complicated to look great and taste amazing. A simple charcuterie plate is enough to satisfy the appetites of everyone in attendance and to create a focal piece for your appetizer table.

There’s no right way to make a charcuterie plate. Just combine the following elements, customized to your tastes.

Pâtés: we suggest offering a selection of pâtés with varying textures and flavor profiles

Cheese: a good rule of thumb is a hard cheese, a soft cheese, a smoky cheese and a tangy cheese.

Meats: From smoked sausages to deli meats, find flavors that complement your pâtés.

Sweets: Grapes, honey, strawberries and apples are perfect balances to the bold flavors of the plate.

Nuts: We suggest unsalted, as there’s already a good amount of salt on the board.

Breads: A selection of vehicles - such as crackers, sliced baguette and breadsticks will keep the crowd happy.

Stuffing/Dressing

Thanksgiving is a day of indulgence, and what better way is there to spoil yourself than with a decadent gourmet stuffing? Create a meal to remember by adding our Pheasant Rosemary Pâté - rich with pheasant, pork, and duck meats, rosemary and pecans - to your stuffing recipe!

Simply cut this coarse-cut pâté into small cubes and mix into your stuffing base, along with garlic, shallot, parsley, thyme and mushrooms. As it cooks, the flavors of pheasant and rosemary will blend into your stuffing, giving your whole meal a heavenly taste.

You can serve this on its own as a side (no bird required), or as actual stuffing for your turkey.

Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are a favorite, there’s no argument there. But sometimes even the best recipes can use a little something different.

This year, create mashed potatoes your family will remember for years to come by using our Truffle Mousse Pâté to enhance the flavor. Our Truffle Mousse is made with turkey and chicken liver, sherry, wild mushrooms, spices with tantalizing hints of truffle. Adding it in with mashed potatoes will give them the depth of flavor that gravy usually does, but without the gravy!

Follow your favorite mashed potato recipe, but at the end, mix in 3-4 tablespoons of the pâté until well blended. Add a couple of sprigs of fresh rosemary, and enjoy!

Savory Vegetables

Vegetables are a staple of any Thanksgiving dinner - make them enjoyable for all with unexpected flavor combinations that the whole family will love.
