Pâté: The Perfect Summertime Snack

Between having the kids home for the summer, vacations, day trips and just being out and about enjoying the sunshine, it seems like snacking is a major part of the season. With the hot weather and a mile-long summer bucket list, you don't want anything that's going to bog you down. Try a few of our favorite summertime bites that are both satisfying and easy to make.

Avocado Toast

Summer is one of the best times to keep avocados on your shopping list - they are in-season during this time, so they're not only fresher, but also less expensive.

Upgrade your avocado toast by spreading a layer of our pâté on toasted whole grain bread -- we suggest the Black Peppercorn Mousse or Eggplant and Goat Cheese Terrine.

Top with mashed avocado and season lightly with salt and pepper. For added flavor, sprinkle a few diced cherry tomatoes or onions on top.

Roll-Ups

You probably haven't thought about making yourself a roll-up since you were in grade school, but the rich decadence of our country style pâtés breathe new life into this childhood staple.

Perfect for on-the-go snacking, they're completely customizable to your tastes. For an easy wrap, simply spread a layer of Dijon mustard on a whole wheat wrap; spoon out an even layer of our Campagne, then add and crunchy greens.

Roll the wrap up tightly, cut it in half or in quarters to make pinwheels, and let the decadence make your afternoon a little better.

Pita Pockets

Next time you're tempted to reach into the freezer for a Hot Pocket, try this far more satisfying recipe instead.

Simply boil two eggs to your preferred consistency - a softer boiled egg lends more creaminess. Once cooked, let the eggs cool, peel them, and chop. Stir in two generous spoonfuls of our Truffle Mousse and season to your preference. Fill the pita with your Mousse mixture, crunchy lettuce, and tomatoes, and enjoy!

That's it - just a few ingredients! Packed with protein, and healthy grains, this pita pocket is the perfect pick me up.
