Pâté Rendezvous:
Oktoberfest at Home

Ask any beer lover and they'll tell you fall is the best time to indulge. The most flavorful seasonal selections are freshly crafted – you just need the right accompaniments.

The smooth, savory flavors of Alexian Pâtés make the crisp carbonation of fall beers explode with flavor. It's the kind of pairing that really takes beer to a new gastronomic height. The best fall beers are generally dark, thick and brewed with bold spices – making them fabulous pairs for our rustic country style pâtés. So celebrate Oktoberfest at home with a little help from our favorite beer pairings, and don't forget the pretzels and nuts to add a little crunch to the party!.

- What says fall more than pumpkin spiced ales? They feature sweet spices that are delicious with savory pâtés like our Pheasant & Rosemary Pâté. Another fall classic, Oktoberfest beers are full-flavored, copper-hued and rich. They have an aftertaste that adds depth to mousse pâtés like our Grand Marnier Pâté.

- Brown Ales have a malty flavor that pairs fantastically with rich foods. Try pairing them with our all-natural Duck Rillette. Slow cooked duck meat in duck fat proves to be a rich and indulgent treat that'll keep you and your guests coming back for more!

-Weissbier is a lighter beer with a yeasty flavor. To appreciate the flavor notes of these beers, it's best to pair with lighter options such as our Eggplant & Goat Cheese or our Mushroom and Artichoke vegetable pâtés. A hefeweizen is another lighter beer option whose hints of banana and clove complement the sweet basil found in our Tomato-Basil Vegan Pâté.

-Porter and Stout beers are dark, rich and have hints of coffee, chocolate, and licorice. Bold beers like these need something BIG – like our Campagne Pâté or Black Peppercorn Mousse. They're full of savory pork and spices that stand up well to darker brews.

- Choosing an IPA with bright citrus notes will bring out every last flavor nestled in our Chicken Ballotine, which is made with white chicken meat, pistachio nuts and a medley of dried tropical fruits.

- A bold, red IPA tastes great with our Wild Forest Mushroom Pâté; you need an earthy beer to pair with this earthy pâté. The red IPA is dark and a bit bitter - but still flavorful and sweet.

- For a classic pairing, try our Campagne Pâté with an Oktoberfest beer. An Oktoberfest beer is sweet and heavy, with a bit of caramel, making it a subtle yet delicious companion to the pork and pork liver pâtés.
