Paté Rendezvous:
Gourmet Toasted Bread Cups

Graceful, petite and a snap to make, toasted bread cups are a fun way to serve paté – and a great way to present appetizers. They add a crisp, light texture that forms the perfect contrast to paté's smoothness. A single serve style makes them easy to carry at parties, too.

So what are toasted bread cups? Simple – roller pin flattened sliced bread that's baked and toasted in cupcake tins. Wheat, whole grain or rye add a nice, mellow flavor compliment to the boldness of our patés, particularly our more full flavored varieties, like Grand Marnier and Black Peppercorn.

The toasted cups can be slapped together in just a few minutes. If you bake the bread at 375 they will be crisp and lightly browned in just a few minutes. Let them cool a bit and scoop some mousse paté inside for a delightful appetizer or snack. Serving options and accompaniments include:

- Red peppers, tomatoes and mushrooms can be chopped and sprinkled on top of the paté cups to add extra flavor. Sage and Pork Mousse with a bit of fresh pepper or red pepper flakes is delicious.

- Our Campagne Paté tastes great with a bit of drizzled Dijon mustard. Add that along with some lettuce and small tomato chunks to a create fun, sandwich style flavor to your appetizer cups.

- A bit of plain hummus adds an interesting twist to paté – try it with Grand Marnier or any poultry or meat variety.

- This month's featured Salmon Paté tastes great with cornichons. The zesty flavored pickles contrast deliciously with its velvety profile.
